I'm currently using LR 5.7 and I'm finally getting around to upgrading it to LR 6.6. I remember from long-ago previous upgrades, I had to insert the 'most recent'(?) serial number as part of the purchasing/downloading/installation process. I seem to remember that I simply opened LR and found the SN on the Help tab, and, in fact, I did-except that the final four number component is X-out. Can I or need I find these somewhere, or may I just enter my next more recent SN, i.e., for LR 4? Fortunately, I've kept a record of my SN for LRs 2, 3 and 4. I go through the process to unzip the LR files that have been downloaded (I've tried and 'over-unzipped' these files three or four times and I get a message that I'm unable to continue the process because a) my 'Adobe Application Manager' program is not functioning or I must download and install the current version. I click on the install now button for this Adobe Application Manager and I'm sent to a page which seems only about the CC versions of Adobe programs. I don't want to subscribe the CC program suite or any part of it; I simply want to upgrade my LR 5.7 to LR 6.6. I was looking for an answer to this question on the web as I will soon be doing the same upgrade despite my dislike of how Adobe implemented their anti-piracy protections. And, it is not clear to me if there is just one version of Adobe Application Manager for all of their software, or if there are program-specific versions for CC and LR et. Can somebody clarify this as I have heard some less than happy stories of folks having to uninstall a lot of software to correct problems, and I would like to avoid that if possible?
